Who is Gingerbred?
I'm a freelance designer and illustrator living in Sheffield in the UK and as long as I've been able to hold a pencil in my hand, I've loved to draw. As I went to college I started to fall in love with graphic design but in the background I still loved nothing more than sitting with a pencil and sketchbook. It was during my degree in Visual Communication that I began to take my illustrations onto the Mac and mix the two elements together.
In my spare time I started to sucessfully sell greetings cards before going to work full time for Hallmark Cards for 3 years as a Mac Designer. Here I designed not only cards but also gift wrap, packaging and crackers. Now it's time for me to take the plunge and continue as a freelance designer and illustrator.
I can't express how much I love what I do and I'm extremely passionate. I'm pleased to say I still tackle each new piece with as much excitement as I did when I was younger with a new set of pencil crayons! Even though now it's usually a wacom pen that you will find in my hand!

Why the name 'Gingerbred'? - Lucy, Sheffield
During my degree I did a personal project about being ginger. I did a lot of research into the 'ginger gene' and as my Dad and Nan are also ginger (therefore carry the ginger gene) I decided I was ginger bred!
